The House Series
bedroom - kitchen - bathroom

The House Series is a trilogy of short dramatic films – Bedroom, Kitchen and Bathroom – that explore conflict and kindness in closed, familiar spaces. Writer/director Jordan Canning and writer/composer Jody Richardson use three distinct approaches in style and tone, to present an evocative collection of human narratives, while showcasing the work of six great Canadian actors.

From conception, the stories were chosen and developed with particular actors and economical production requirements in mind. Over a number of days, each film was rehearsed on location, with principal photography lasting only a few hours. The crew was minimal, consisting of only director/shooter Jordan Canning and a sound recordist. From start to finish, the entire series was written, rehearsed, shot and edited in under six months – all in the filmmakers’ house.
